- PaperStream Capture can be used to create PDF or TIFF files of your clients’ source documents to be uploaded to SurePrep.
- Complete the installation of PaperStream IP drivers.
- Open PaperStream Capture and click on the 'Help' icon.
- Click on Admin and select the following;
- Driver Type: ISIS
- Sample Profile: Display Sample Profile
- Click Mode: Single Click
- After you have made this selection, click OK to close this window.
- Select Scan menu and click Config.
- Select Binary and click on the Create icon.
- Select 1, Name from the panel– In this window you can create or edit the document profile by following the steps below.
- Name: SurePrep
- Description: B&W – 300dpi
- Icon: Black and white paper icon.
- Select 2, Scan from the left panel.
- Click on the Scanner Name dropdown and Select PaperStream_IP fi-xxxx (xxxx=your scanner model) as your scanner.
Note: If you do not see 'PaperStream_IP fi-xxxx' Scanner as an option, repeat steps 1 through 3. If the issue continues, please contact support.
- Click the Driver Profile drop down and select 001: B&W Default, then hit the Details button.
- A window will open for PaperStream IP (ISIS), click on the preference icon.
- Select the Normal Dialog option from the configuration window and click OK.
- Under the Basic tab, please set the following settings as shown below.
- Image Mode: Black and White
- Paper Source: Feeder (Both Sides)
- Resolution: 300 dpi.
- Paper Size: Scanner’s Maximum
- Carrier Sheet: Off
- Under the Image tab, please set the following settings as shown below.
- Black & White Method: Dynamic Threshold (iDTC)
- Tone Adjustment: Defaulted to Disabled.
- Cleanup: On
- Character Thickness: 0 (Zero).
- Character Augmentation: 0 (Zero).
- Noise Removal: 0 (Zero).
- Background Pattern Removal: On (Standard).
- The White Level Follower: Automatic.
- Vertical Streaks reduction: Off
- Dropout color: White.
- Inverted Image: Off.
- Under the Page tab, please do the following settings as shown below.
- Cropping: None
- Background: Black.
- Scanning Area: Automatically set.
- Split Image: Off.
- Rotation: Automatic.
- Edge Correction
- Edge Repair: Defaulted to Disabled.
- Edge Filter: Off
- Hole Punch Removal: On
- Fill Color: White
- Blank Page Skip: On
- Sensitivity: 0 (Zero)
Note: The higher the sensitivity, the more likely that the pages will be detected as blank.
- Under the Paper Feeding tab, please set the following settings as shown below.
- Multifeed Detection: Detect
- Action: Do not stop
- Condition: Hardware Setting
- Paper Protection: On
- Pre-Pick: On.
Note: Enabling the Pre-Pick shortens the interval between scanning each document.
- Under the Batch tab, please set the following settings.
- Assisted Scan: Off
- Continuous Scan: On
- Job Control: Off
- Patch Code Detection: Off
- Barcode Detection: Off
- Under the Endorser tab, please set the following settings.
- Digital Endorser: Off
- Once you have set all the above settings, click the Save icon on the tool bar to create a profile.
- The Save Profile window will appear. Enter SurePrep in the description field and click OK.
- The profile will be saved as SurePrep, Click OK.
- Click the Scan Option drop down and select ‘Enable continuous Scanning’.
- Select 3, Release Folder from the left pane.
- Click the File Settings drop down and set the following fields.
- File Format
- Black & White: PDF File (*.pdf) or Multi-Page Tagged Image File Format (*.tif)
- PDF Option: No need to do anything for this option.
- Destination
- Output Folder: Browse to the folder where you want your scanned documents to be saved.
- File Name: Select Fixed and enter the file name.
- Click Upload to drop down, select None (Folder) and click SAVE button.
- Once you are done with the above settings, the SurePrep profile will be created.
- Click on Done
- Click the Help icon in the top right hand corner, then click Admin.
- Click Settings.
- Select SurePrep from the dropdown and click OK.
- Now place the paper in the scanner’s feeder and click the 'SurePrep' profile to scan the pages.
- The pages will be scanned and will provide you with a preview. Select the check box(s) which is/are available beside the page(s) and click the Release button. This will release the pages after you click 'Yes' for the question 'Do you want to continue?'
- Please go to the folder path and check the PDF file.
Note: To select all pages at once click 'Ctrl + A' from your keyboard.
