Why Proper Sign-Out Is Important
Properly logging out of your Remote Desktop at the end of your workday is crucial because:
It closes your active session completely, preventing potential login conflicts
It helps maintain system security by ensuring no unauthorized access
It can prevent issues with subsequent login attempts
It helps avoid performance degradation that occurs with long system uptimes
It reduces the risk of connection freezes and unresponsive sessions
It minimizes software version conflicts between your local and remote systems
Improper sign-out practices can lead to various issues that may require additional troubleshooting steps, including slow performance, connection problems, and software version conflicts. Regular proper sign-outs help maintain a healthy remote desktop environment and reduce IT support requests.
To properly sign out:
click the Windows icon on the bottom-left corner, your name, and then "Sign out."
