Emails may go to your junk folder if they're marked as spam, contain suspicious attachments or links, come from unfamiliar senders, or trigger security filters. Here's how to prevent important emails from being filtered:
Right click on the email that's showing up in the Junk folder
Hover over "Junk"
Select to either "Never Block Sender" or "Never Block Sender's Domain"
After doing this, it'll be added to your Safe Sender list and won't arrive to your Junk folder.
If you're still having issues with emails being marked as spam, try these additional steps:
1) Regularly check your spam folder to ensure important emails aren't being filtered incorrectly
2) Add important sender email addresses to your contacts list
3) Ask the sender to check their email settings and avoid using suspicious formatting or content that might trigger spam filters
If you're experiencing persistent issues with emails being incorrectly marked as spam, especially from specific domains like Gmail, try these additional troubleshooting steps:
1) Check your email system's custom filters and block lists that might be affecting delivery
2) Verify email authentication policies like DMARC, DKIM, and SPF are properly configured, especially if meeting invite RSVPs are being blocked. This may require checking DNS records in your email administration panel
3) When dealing with multiple quarantined emails, carefully review each one individually. If you cannot separately approve legitimate emails mixed with fraudulent ones, contact your email system's support team for assistance
4) Contact your IT support if you suspect domain-level blocks are in place, especially if emails from specific domains (like Gmail) are consistently going to spam
5) Test email delivery by sending a test email after resolving any identified issues
